Getting There
The best way to reach Dijon is by driving. From Paris, follow A6 southeast to Pouilly-en-Auxois, and then go east along A38 into Dijon. Dijon also has excellent rail and bus connections to the rest of Europe. A total of 4 TGV trains arrive from Paris's Gare de Lyon each day (trip time: 1 hr., 45 min.); the one-way fare is 52€ ($75). Between the end of June and the beginning of August, the streets of Dijon experience a lively renaissance when Estivade (tel. 03-80-74-51-95) comes to town. The festival uses the city's streets as a stage for folk dances, music, and theater. It's always a big hit. You can get a schedule of events from the city tourist office or La Mairie (the town hall; tel. 03-80-74-51-51).
