Getting There
By Train -- The nearest train station is in Ansbach, which has several trains daily from Munich, Nürnberg, and Stuttgart. From Ansbach, Dinkelsbühl can be reached by bus. Train rides from Munich or Frankfurt take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on the connection. For rail information, call tel. 01805/996633.
By Bus -- Regional buses link Dinkelsbühl with local towns. There are three to five buses a day to Rothenburg and five to six buses a day to Nördlingen.
By Car -- Take B-25 south from Rothenburg.

Special Events
This dreamy village awakens once a year for the Kinderzeche (Children's Festival), which is held for 10 days in July. This festival commemorates the saving of the village by its children in 1632. According to the story, the children pleaded with conquering Swedish troops to leave their town without pillaging and destroying it -- and got their wish.
