Dubai Hotels

There certainly is no dearth of hotels where you'll be treated like royalty in Dubai. At the top of the list is, of course, the Burj Al Arab Hotel, a magnificent, seven-star hotel. You're likely to have heard of the Burj Al Arab (the "Arabian Tower") long before arriving in Dubai. The so-called seven-star landmark hotel resembles a giant sail rising over the Gulf, with changing colors visible for miles at night. The Burj is among the world's tallest (at 321m/1,053 ft.) and most expensive hotels, certainly in first place for sheer over-the-top appeal. Guests are greeted at the airport with a Rolls Royce and bouquet of roses, followed upon arrival at the hotel with a personalized waterfall and fire spectacle. Each of the stunning suites has two floors, and includes a kitchen and private bar, state-of-the-art entertainment system with 42-inch plasma TV, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, and bathroom with separate shower and Jacuzzi tub with a decadent bath menu.

For those looking for the ultimate Dubai beach vacation, there's no better option than the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The resort is enormous and lacks any sort of intimate feel, but service is overall top-notch and there's more to do here than you can imagine. The stunning wave-shape hotel includes 598 oceanfront rooms and suites, and 19 Arabian-style beachside villas. Even the simplest rooms are spacious, with seating areas, walk-in showers, and colorful beach decor. The exclusive villas feature Bedouin-style furnishings, luxurious bathrooms with Jacuzzis, and private gardens with plunge pools. Once you've checked in, there's really no need to go anywhere else.

For a truly Arabian experience, check out the Arabian Courtyard Hotel. Located across the street from the Dubai Museum, this is one of the city's best value four-star hotels. The decor is distinctly Arabian, and you'll feel more in the Middle East here than at many of Dubai's ultra-modern resorts. Despite its traditional touches, the Arabian Courtyard is full of modern conveniences, such as a full-service spa, fitness center, and pool. Cozy rooms offer either one queen-size or two twin beds, small marble bathrooms with robes, dark wood furnishings, and prints of idyllic Arabian scenes. After a day of exploring Dubai, you'll surely get a good night's sleep in these hotels.
