Description:
Pars is widely viewed as the best inexpensive Iranian restaurant in the city. This branch, located next to the Rydges Hotel in an area called Satwa (there's another branch inside the Mall of the Emirates), is the most popular -- a place where half the city seems to gather late at night. Most of the tables are outdoors, where the food is also cooked on an enormous coal-filled barbecue. Inexpensive, traditional fare includes the mixed grill of chicken and lamb with rice, Persian stew, chelow kebab barg (with lamb filet), and chelow koobideh (with minced meat). The kebabs served with succulent lamb and flat bread are as tasty as you'll find anywhere, and come with a heaping plate of rice and an assortment of cold vegetables, goat cheese, and mint leaves. As the night wears on, the multicultural eatery fills with the smell of shisha pipes alongside the delicious Persian fare.
