• The panoramic view from the 50th floor of the Emirates Towers Hotel is the principal reason to dine here -- floor-to-ceiling windows from one side of the elegant restaurant to the other present a spectacular view of Dubai. Come here for a special occasion, expecting to be pampered by the servers and anointed a new member of the city's elite by fellow diners. Vu's is a power lunch spot by day, and among Dubai's most romantic tables by night. While the service and view from every one of the 23 white linen tables are outstanding, the expensive menu can sometimes disappoint (this seems too often the case with restaurants content to rest on their laurels). Lean toward the caviar linguini for starters, followed by lobster or roast pigeon for your main course. Both are first-rate. The chocolate fondant is well worth the wait. Following your meal, wander up the spiral staircase to Vu's bar, an equally dazzling space serving sophisticated international cocktails.
