- Cuisines: Asian, Pan-Asian & Pacific Rim
Wagamama's Dubai branch offers quick, friendly service in a delightfully casual setting. In fact, it's perfect if you don't have the time or financial will for a drawn out meal. An open kitchen surrounds the communal tables, which encourage interaction between the expatriates and local diners. For this reason, I view Wagamama as a wonderful symbol of Dubai's cultural openness. The rice bowls, noodle dishes, and teriyaki plates are generously portioned and wonderfully tasty, with delectable choices such as chicken curry, teriyaki steak, stir-fry vegetables, and noodles in coconut-based soup. The menu clearly indicates which dishes are spiciest. All are cooked to order and served the moment they're ready. Lunch tends to be much busier than dinner, and reservations are not accepted.
