Al Mamzar Shopping Centre

• It caused a stir when it first opened; Its 65 stores attracted shoppers from Dubai and Sharjah, and they loved it. Sadly, today it's just another faded mall, but thanks to the Italian café (try the lovely almond pastries) Al Mamzar has a rather European feel to it, but be prepared to pay European prices. Two shops worth mentioning are rug dealer Saifal Dawka, and Asa Light, which probably has the finest range of chandeliers in the city.
