Souk Al Bahar

• Tourist-friendly shops and a fake souk vibe alongside the world's tallest building Still something of a ghost mall, despite opening in early 2008, Souk Al Bahar is developing more of a name for its food and beverages (the excellent new Left Bank is here) than its shopping. The 'market of the sailor' is another 'Arabesque'-themed mall (you can tell because it has fake lanterns), along the lines of Souk Madinat, but without the crowds or the selection of shops. It is, however, a very peaceful shopping experience, and the untroubled staff in most stores should be willing to help.
