Neighborhood Description

City Centre

Having been extensively rebuilt following the Irish War of Independence in the early 20th century, O'Connell Street is now a commerical and transport nexus. Central O'Connell Street is dominated by the General Post Office, an impressive building which dates back to the era of British rule, while the street itself is home to many statues of famous historical Irish figures, as well as the recently-constructed Spire. It's also an excellent place to grab a bite to eat, or even visit the cinema, while shopaholics will be delighted to visit Henry Street, another pedestrianised shopping area. © NileGuide
