Kildare on an old farm, Peatland World is in the heart of the Bog of Allen - a raised bog that covers parts of counties Kildare, Laois and Offaly. There are guided tours and an exhibition about the history of the bogs of Ireland - the country's main source of warmth and fuel for hundreds of years. The exhibition also focuses on the bog as a rich and vital - and now endangered - habitat for thousands of species of plant and animal. All in all, a fascinating glimpse of Ireland past and present.
