Waterways Visitor Centre

• This bright white cube floating near the end of the Grand Basin is dedicated to Ireland's inland waterways -- the civil engineers among you will surely be unable to tear themselves away. The incongruous floating modern exterior gives way inside to the subdued tones of Irish oak wall panels and a hardwood ship's floor. A series of exhibits describes aspects of canal design, and several interactive models dynamically demonstrate the daily operations of the canals.
