Description:
Dublin is an increasingly multicultural city and the food on offer reflects this. Ten of my favourite places to sample these fine flavours are listed below in no particular order.

Description:
This restaurant offers an interesting take on dining out, offering a more hands-on approach: you don't actually have to do your own cooking, but customers choose the individual ingredients for a meal. Menu suggestion cards are provided, so don't get too nervous. You can put together any combination of meat or seafood, sauces, spices and vegetables.

Zaytoon Restaurant

- 01 677 3595
Location:
- Parliament Street
-
Map
Description:
Great place to grab a quick bite. It is conveniently located in the bustling Temple Bar area from which you can launch or end your night out. On the menu you will find the usual standard fare such as Chicken Shish, doners and chips as well as the more exotic dishes like barg, chollo or kubideh. The decor is basic, a slight step up from a fast food take away but not quite a cozy cafe. However, it is all about the tasty food and scrumptious dribbling sauce that goes all over your face and makes you lick your fingers everytime!

Location:

Description:
There are four individually decorated rooms in the restaurant, each room has its own authentic style you can easily find yourself believing you have been transported into the middle of Morocco. Enjoy lots of cous cous, mezza and traditional tagines as well as lots of fish and vegetarian options. Only Moroccan music is played and a belly dancer performs on occasion. Highly recomended for groups.

Description:
The Cedar Tree is a low-key basement restaurant which is conducive to late nights and bottles of red wine. This is one of the few Lebanese restaurants in the city and is probably the most successful: the atmosphere is perfect and the menu is delicious, with plenty of choices for vegetarians.

Chameleon

Location:
- 1 Lower Fownes Street
- Temple Bar

Map
Description:
The Chameleon is down-to-earth and always good fun. This two-storey restaurant has a tiny ground-floor, but don't be misled, two more floors await. The top floor has low opium-style seating on cushions, and is a great location for getting an intimate group of people together. The food is generally excellent, and your best bet is to get a variety of dishes and dive in. The service is friendly and informative, and the Chameleon also recently won the coveted Beck's Taste of Temple Bar Award.

Location:
- Lr. Liffey Street
- Middle Abbey St
-
Map
Description:
This wonderful food hall houses a wide variety of artisan produce, delicious local Irish meats, and regional specialties. Favorites include: Caviston's, Dublin's premier deli, for smoked salmon and seafood; Itsabagel, for its delicious bagels, imported from H&H Bagels in New York City; Crème de la Crème, for its French-style pastries and cakes; Missy and Mandy's, for its American-style ice cream; Nectar, for its plethora of healthy juice drinks; and Christophe's Café for its delicious gourmet sandwiches, wraps, and panini. There is some seating, but this place gets jammed during lunchtime midweek, so visit at off-peak times if possible.

Description:
With grilled meats dominating the menu meat lovers will be in heaven at this Argentinian steakhouse. Choose from an a la carte, pre-theatre or lunch menu. Although the interior is modern and somewhat clinical the food more than makes up for it.

The brightly painted interior and seating adds to the lively atmosphere. Enjoy tasty mexican dishes such as burritos, home-made nachos, fajitas as well as their speciality the award winning deep fried ice-cream! Service can be a bit hit and miss however it is a firm favourite for many Dubliners and have built up a strong regular clientéle.
