Is it easier to take a bus, train or car to Herne, Germany from Dusseldorf?
My husbands ancestors are Von Forrell from Herne, Schloss Shrunkede. We want to visit Herne. What is the easiest way to find the castle? What are the visiting hours and do we need reservations. We really don't want to miss out on seeing his family hertiage. We want to see Dusseldorf too if we have time.

Hello, The train from Dusseldorf to Herne is frequent and takes approximately 1 hour.
In summer most castles are open daily. But to check this here are two options. (1) Call them Schloss Strünkede, Karl-Brandt-Weg 5, 44629 Herne
