Description:

  • Located on the bustling Rose Street, which is known for the traditional and trendy pubs, cafes and restaurants that line it, the Abbotsford might be its very best pub. Designed by the legendary Pub & Brewery architect P. L. Henderson, this traditional Scottish pub features an ornately decorated ceiling, wood paneling and a classic island bar where patrons can order a range of single malt whiskies and ales. The fireplace makes for a tempting retreat when it's cold outside, and if you'd rather eat at the pub's restaurant on the first-floor Above Restaurant, you can still order drinks below and the bar staff will happily bring it to you. Now run by D.M. Stewart Ltd, the pub was originally built for Charles Jenners, the owner of the famous Scottish department store by the same name located on nearby Princes Street.
