- Pleasance Courtyard is one of the premier event venues in Edinburgh's old town. Pleasance Courtyard and Pleasance Dome, collectively known as Pleasance, were opened as part of the 1985 Festival Fringe. The venue hosts the Edinburgh Comedy Festival every year, which is a widely attended event. Though primarily a comedy venue, a plethora of music concerts, classical plays, dance performances and so on have been staged at the Pleasance Courtyard.
