• Low-key, unpretentious, and comfortable, Tokyo is a very authentic, very reasonable, and very, very good sushi house on the boisterous Whyte Avenue strip. It has a huge menu, ranging from sushi to all kinds of noodles. The fish is just-caught fresh tasting, and portions of red tuna and salmon sashimi are generous and delicious; house-made gyoza are crisp, but not greasy, and the maki is more fish than rice -- always a good sign. Tokyo has the added advantage of feeling very zen in a neighborhood that, after the sun goes down, tends to be anything but; think of it as refuge from the socializing storm.
