El Paso Museum of History

Description:

  • Opening in 2007, the new El Paso Museum of History is worthy of its subject, a major improvement on its shuttered predecessor on the city's east side. Of the four galleries, two feature permanent exhibits: Downstairs is "El Paso: A to Z," a fun look at alphabetical chapters in the city's history, including floods, alligators, and baseball, and upstairs is "The Changing Pass," covering the area's evolution from the Ice Age to modern day. The remaining two galleries feature regularly rotating exhibits on topics of all kinds. Allow 1 hour.
