Bates Nut Farm - Escondido
  • Type: Attractions
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Avoid the crowds and rotting pumpkins (as pumpkins roast out in the east county sun) and head to the farm weeks before Halloween - otherwise you'll find slim pickings and slews of tourists

  • Description:

    • Apart from remaining one of San Diego's best kept secrets, the Bates Nut Farm gives families from all over the country an excuse to explore East County. With its 100 acres and unique and nutty food, the Bates Nut Farm isn't just about the nuts – here you'll find everything for your holiday needs; during Halloween, cars line the straw stained parking lots of the relatively dry land where a cornfield maze, tracker rides, a petting zoo, rides and of course, a pumpkin patch, fill the area. Though it remains one of the most famous pumpkin patches, Bates Nut Farm's lot brings additional family fun activities over the year including art and crafts fairs and markets, car shows and more.
