• Intracoastal Waterway views compete with colorful and creative martinis at this Amelia Island Italian-influenced hot spot. This is not the chianti and checkered tablecloth Italian restaurant Billy Joel sings about either. Instead of just a bottle of red or white, consider funky martinis, such as Italian Wedding Cake or Mozzarella -- don't ask us, they won't give away the recipes. As for the food, it ranges from traditional -- spaghetti and meatballs -- to offbeat -- Pancetta Strudel, stuffed with Italian bacon and sauerkraut with a walnut cream sauce. Although we haven't had it, we hear the Fig Plate is particularly exceptional, with black mission figs, Gorgonzola mousse, soppressata salami, spring greens, strawberry-fig vinaigrette, and grilled flatbread.
