Megri is hard to miss with its two neighboring locations in the center of Fethiye's Old Town, an unornamented lokanta a few steps away, and a corner cafe. The reliability of the meals makes this hands-down the most recommended restaurant in town. The main restaurant is actually two separate spaces set around the Old Town square -- in summertime, tables spill out of the two stone dining rooms (one was an old converted warehouse) monopolizing the public square. Start your meal with the area's freshest, most succulent cold seafood salads with big chunks of calamari and tons of lemon, and a plateful of steamy lavas on which to spread your garlic and parsley herb butter. The seafood casseroles are a local specialty, albeit a bit heavy for a sultry summer afternoon, so order your catch of the day grilled, on a sis, or kagitta (steamed in foil). The lokanta, Çarsi Cad. 26 (tel. 0252/614-4047), attracts those looking for typical food without the added price, and the new location across from the old provides plenty of pleasant outdoor seating.
