South Rim
The south rim is the most populated area of the Grand Canyon. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, it also is easy to access and contains a large range of amenities from budget to luxury. The famous Bright Angel Trail leads off from the South Rim and ends at Bright Angel Campground, the most highly traveled terrain in the canyon.
Feel free to traverse on your own, but keep in mind that there are other ways to discover the canyon: by mule, helicopter, airplane or boat. River tours are not readily available and usually book one to two years in advance. Interpretive Ranger Programs, an podcasts are available as well as sunrise/sunset schedules.
