Kendrick Park Picnic Ground

Description:

  • This picnic spot looks down on a sea of grass that lies in the shadow of the San Francisco Peaks, Arizona's highest mountain. In Arizona, a large grassy area surrounded by trees is called a park. Kendrick Park is one of the largest "parks" in Northern Arizona. You can enjoy your lunch here, in the shade of cool pines, while you enjoy the view and contemplate a hike up one of the trails that scale those lofty slopes. If that sounds a bit ambitious right after lunch, there are a number of scenic drives in the area where you can try to catch a glimpse of the resident elk or mule deer or, if the season's right, take a photo of the fall colors.
