  • The area around the Duomo is full of fun things to venture to and explore. As all the major tours take the journey through Piazza del Duomo to see the sights of the Duomo, the Campanile di Giotto and the Battistero these are only a few of the attractions to visit. If you take the pedestrian street, Via Calzaioli, just before Piazza della Signoria you will find Orsanmichele. This tiny church that used to be a grain mill, used to have magnificient statues along the outside of it. Now there are copies in their place. Inside there is a gorgeous, colorful tabernacle of the Madonna.

From the Piazza del Duomo, heading toward the station, on Via Tornabuoni, there is the famous Palazzo Antinori. This palazzo still is the home and residence of the noble Florentine family, Antinori. Cantinetta Antinori is a great enoteca with all the wines produced on the Antinori properties. Behind San Lorenzo Church, there is yet another masterpiece done partly by Michelangelo. The Medici Chapel is a majestic space. With each tomb expressing how Lorenzo Duke of Urbino and of Giuliano Duke of Nemours. was in life. A silent space that has a whole lot to say.

For a fun-filled adventure around the center invest in a Florence Segway Tour or Bike Tour. Each tour will take you around the center giving you historical insight of each place. Feel yourself get sucked into the amazement and enchantment that is Florence.
