Description:
In 2002, rising rents forced the kindly owner of this venerable inn (established in the 19th c.) to move up the block into the piano nobile of a neighboring 15th-century palazzo. She definitely traded up. Incredible frescoes dating from 17th century and later decorate every ceiling but one tiny single, and many of the walls -- actually, virtually all the walls -- are painted, but the yahoos of a previous age whitewashed over them and the hotel could afford to uncover only a few of them for the time being. The select few have now been completely refurbished. This is one of the most sought-after little hotels in Florence.
