David is in the accademia museum, see there http://www.uffizi.firenze.it/english/musei/accademia/

Of course! I think it is a must and you should go, I can see that you have already another asnwer with details of the Accademia, where you can find this masterpiece, so you are fine, but if you need a guide to explain to you better this unique work of art and to have also a tour in Florence ask me and I will find you a very good one. Have fun, ciao

Tourist: Good morning, could you tell me where I can find the statue David?
Florentine: It depends on which one. The one by Donatello can be found at the Bargello.
Tourist: No, I would like to know where the one by Michelangelo is.
Florentine: In this case, the reply isn’t that simple. In Florence there are three of them. Which one did you mean?
Tourist: I don’t know. I thought there was only one.
Florentine: Let me explain. For us Florentines, David is a symbol, so for that reason, we have put him in the most important locations in the city. This way, everyone who coms to Florence cannot avoid seeing it.
Tourist: And where are these places?
Florentine: In piazza Signoria there is the exact copy of the original, right in front of Palazzo Vecchio. It’s made of marble and it was put there in 1901, to replace the masterpiece of Michelangelo, that risked damage. Another copy, in bronze, can be admired at the Piazzale Michelangelo, from where you can see the whole city. A spectacular sight!
Tourist: I understand. Thank you for the information. But you still haven’t told me where the original is!
Florentine: The original David is at the Galleria dell’Accademia in via Ricasoli. Do you see that long queue of tourists? Right there
