Florianopolis Boat Tour

• A popular way to spend your day on the island of Florianopolis is to go around it in a "scuna" (traditional schooner). Typically lasting five to seven hours, these boat tours are run by various operations who charge, on average, 35-40 reais to take tourists around to the island's main attractions. A typical itinerary starts at the Praia de Canasvieiras, where you'll find a launch on the right side of the beach. After passing several other beaches, you'll disembark at the historical fort for a look around. Lunch will be served at one of the island's restaurants and then you'll go on to circumvent the island, stopping at a couple beaches for a quick dip. A great way to orient yourself during your first couple days, if you have the time.
