Description:
- Florianopolis is a major destination not only for Brazilians, but for their South American counterparts -- Argentinians, Uruguayans, and Chileans (among others) flock to the island especially in the summer, and Praia dos Ingleses is where many of them go to soak up the sun. Aside from having the best infrastructure of any of Floripa's beaches (you'll find most of the big hotels here), there are other reasons this beach is such a draw. Almost five kilometers long, Praia dos Ingleses is a classic white-sand and crystal-blue-water destination. On top of that, here are found the largest remains of the Azorean immigrants of the mid-18th century. Religious festivals and traditional folk events can be enjoyed most here, especially in the off season.
