Awesome view and solid food make this place a regular stop on the drive from Miami along the Overseas Highway (now an All-American Road) to Key West.Wahoo's overlooks the marina at Whale Harbor, a fishing, dining and kiteboarding recreational hub on the water. This place has a seriously adventurous and fun vibe. Painted in bright funky colors, Wahoo's puts you in the vacation mood.
The food is solid but not spectacular, it is casual eating - beers and primarily fried food, albeit seafood - with other selections such as fish tacos and a grilled tuna sandwich. Shrimp is plentiful in the shrimp po' boy (not every place that offers a poor boy is RICH with shrimp!) and they nearly fall off the plate.
If you're on your way to Key West, have lunch, a glass of draft Key West Sunset Ale to get you in the mood (but make sure you are not the driver!) and Wahoo's will get you in the proper state of mind.
You may even be there to see the fishermen bring in a morning fresh catch off the boats!
