- One of the oldest in France, the Hippodrome de la Solle dates back to the time of Louis XVI when the Races of Fontainebleau were staged for the first time in 1776. The 2,400 meter track (the first of its kind in France) was completed under the Second Empire, and inaugurated before Napoleon III. In 2000, the hippodrome was as taken over by an administrative committee dedicated to its restoration, continued care, and the community. Onsite bar/brassiere Le Retro is open race days.
