Description:
The most famous and sought-after cabaret in Frankfurt, this was named after co-founder Johnny Klinke's Chinese zodiac birth year (the Tiger). Klinke founded the club with Margarita Dillinger in the late 1980s. Shows are presented in a not very large blue-and-black theater, where guests sit at tiny tables to see about eight different artists per show. The acts usually include four Italian acrobats, three Russians who jump into one another's arms from dizzying heights, an East Indian shadow puppeteer who imitates the likenesses of famous German and U.S. politicians, a Mexican juggler, and a Ukrainian ballet artist who dances to the melodies of Edith Piaf. A tiger, a panther, and a sea lion all make carefully choreographed appearances as well, each presented with an emphasis on razzmatazz, nostalgia, and schmaltz. Each show lasts 2 hours with breaks for drinks and snacks, and each is presented as child-approved, family-style entertainment without nudity. Two restaurants are associated with this cabaret. Shows are Tuesday through Thursday 7 and 10pm, Friday to Saturday 7:30 and 10:30pm, and Sunday 5 and 9pm.
