Pacific Colors

Description:

  • This intensely dramatic lobby-level restaurant in Frankfurt's most avant-garde hotel boasts a New Age design in (what else?) Pacific tones of sea green and blue, with big-windowed views over the trees and walkways of the Friedberger Anlage Park. The food is what keeps gastronomes coming back -- particularly those with a fondness for a Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that manages to be both airy and earthy. As conceived by culinary artist Manfred Breuer, the exact composition of the menu changes about every 3 months, but the best examples include a seafood medley -- a trio of red snapper, white fish, and prawns served with spicy chili-laced noodles and a coriander syrup. The steak is also sumptuous, a filet mignon with an olive-and-potato tapenade.
