Description:
- This beach can be found just 5 km west of Galway city. Simply turn right just after Barna Woods. A narrow access road leads the way and parking in the areas provided is recommended, although there is a small charge. This clean, sandy beach was awarded a European Blue Flag. It has a very gradual decline which makes it particularly safe for children and there is a lifeguard present during the summertime. A picnic area and toilet facilities are located nearby. It can get very crowded at this popular beach when the weather is warm, so get there early if the sun is shining.
