Description:
You will spot the silvery high-rise slab of this new Hilton property well before reaching it via exit 3 from Autoroute 5. The entry road sweeps past the casino and a theater before arriving right at the front door. A "wow" factor is invoked in the lobby by multicolored chandeliers that seem like surreal Venetian glass renditions of Medusa's hair. Guest rooms are less dramatic, but provide the expected comforts and a few extras, including video games, CD players, and morning newspapers. Most rooms look out onto wide Lake Leamy, which has a beach and small boats for rent. The chief attraction, of course, is Québec's third casino, connected to the hotel via a corridor. That means you can eat, sleep, drink, dance, and lose more money than you ever intended without ever even setting a foot out of doors. If you're into that. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from downtown Ottawa.
