For a long time everyone thought those whacky Genovese were starving each other with their foods and portions, but as it turns out, Mediterranean food, or, "The Med Diet," has turned out to be some of the more healthy choices you can put in your body. One thing's for sure though, you can't go wrong with Italian cooking. Fresh pestos and olive oils, focaccia and dried meats are Genovese specialties, so make sure you grab a sample of each of those to go with your glass of finely vintaged Barbera.
