- Founders Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer started this winery with the intention to create a wine with deep flavors and a soft texture...and that is exactly what they did. With estates in Napa Valley and Alexander Valley, Silver Oak is devoted to producing only cabernet sauvignon. Tours to the winery take place only on weekdays and you have to call to make reservations. There's not much at the wine tasting sessions, as there's only one type of wine on offer. So just take a walk through the vineyard, or stop by at the cellar's gift shop to buy attractive glasses, bottle-openers and the like.
