  • Type: Lodges
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Go feed the swans and ducks on the edges of Loch Lomond, just outside the Balloch House Hotel. Then stroll along to Balloch park via the lochside trail...to work off all that gorgeous food!

  • Description:

    • This lodge lies on the edge of Loch Lomond and is surrounded by some of Scotland's most stunning scenery. Only 15 miles north of Glasgow, the lodge is easily accessed from Junction 30 of the M8. The lodge dates back to the 18th Century, when it was involved in running ferries across the River Leven. In the 19th Century it became a hotel, and was visited by a number of famous visitors including Hans Christian Anderson in 1847 and the Empress Eugenie, wife of Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte's nephew, in 1860. Cuisine is provided by member establishment, the Balloch House Hotel, which delight patrons with a menu oozing fresh seasonal dishes and a cellar full of top ales and wines. The pub also has a roaring log fire... all the ingredients for the perfect country pub and restaurant.
