Gran Canaria Transportation

Getting There:

By air:

Gran Canaria has many international flights to choose from, and you can always take a flight from mainland Spain. Some airlines includes:

Sterling.dk Airline (+457 033 3370/ http://www.sterlingticket.com)

Thomson Fly (+43 0192 89 598/ http://www.thomsonfly.com)

By ferry:

There is a weekly ferry from the southern Spanish port of Cádiz.

Getting Around:

Binter is the local airline and although flying is not cheap, it is infinitely faster than the alternatives of bus and ferry. The islands are connected by roll-on roll-off ferries, hydrofoils and jetfoils. Buses are known as guaguas, which will bring a smile of recognition to anyone who has traveled in Latin America. Taxis are widely available, but also much more expensive.
