Description:
Attracting a mixed crowd of all ages, the Sevilla is definitely típico, but with an upbeat elegance. The "great broads" and "fabulous studs" of the '50s and '60s who came here included Ava Gardner, Marlon Brando, Savador Dalí, André Segovia, Gene Kelly, and Ingrid Bergman. Even before them, the place was discovered by García Lorca, a patron in the 1930s, and Manuel de Falla. Most dishes are at the lower end of the price scale. The gazpacho, Andalusian veal with fresh vegetables, flan, crusty homemade bread, and the wine of Valdepeñas are among the most popular items. To break the gazpacho monotony, try sopa virule, made with pine nuts and chicken breast. For a main course, we recommend the cordero a la pastoril (lamb with herbs and paprika). Our favorite dessert is bananas flambé. You can dine inside, which is pleasantly decorated, or on the terrace. The restaurant is opposite the Royal Chapel, near the Plaza Isabel Católica.

Paiya bland
-
Pros: Outside seating in courtyard, reservations, service. Cons: Bland seafood and chicken paiya. We were told by a local taxi driver this was the best place to go for paiya.
