Description:

El Tovar is considered the premier lodge of the hotels situated along the south rim of the Canyon. First opening its doors in 1905, the historic lodge has hosted Albert Einstein, Theodore Roosevelt, and other famous names throughout its more than one-hundred year history. El Tovar is the only Grand Canyon lodge to offer in-room dining and turn-down service. If you manage to score a suite with private porch or balcony, you'll be rewarded with your own private lookout for watching the sunset over the Canyon. Even if you aren't staying at El Tovar during your visit to Grand Canyon National Park (reservations should be made months in advance, as rooms can be hard to come by, especially during the spring and summer months), the lively lounge and restaurant are popular dining spots, and a good excuse for paying a visit to this historic hotel.
