If you can't plan your trip to the Grand Canyon months in advance to grab a lodge room in the park itself, this is a viable option. The main thing it has going for it is its location....

I stayed at the Holiday Inn express Grand Canyon. It is only 1 mile from the south rim park entrance. There are good restaurants in the area. The hotel was clean, nice, and well maintained....
