Description:
- Besides the information available through published nature guides and brochures at Forest Service offices, the Tusayan Ranger District has developed a self-guided nature trail. This trail enables persons to learn about the forest environment in a "hands-on", out-of-doors setting. The trail is located in the Ten-X Campground.
The Ten-X Nature Trail provides a cool and easy alternative to hiking in the Grand Canyon. The trail is graveled and relatively mud-free during the wet monsoon weather of late summer. There is something worth experiencing along this easy stroll through tall ponderosas during every season of the year.
To help you take the most advantage of the 29 points of interest identified by numbered posts along the trail, a returnable guidebook is available at the trailhead. With the information you gather on this self-guided excursion through the Tusayan Ranger District's living natural history book, you'll find your visit to northern Arizona's high country a rewarding and enlightening experience.
Directions from Tusayan: Travel 2 miles south and 47 miles north of Williams on U.S. Highway 180/State Highway 64. The trail begins within the Ten-X Campground, between units 57 and 58, on the "C" loop
