- This place offers a wide arrange of gifts, from Native American art to T-shirt souvenirs. Located in the Historical District, the shop first opened its doors in 1906 and is still operated by the Verkamp family. Its founder, John Verkamp, first attempted selling curios and Indian crafts in 1898 from a tent he rented from the Bright Angel Lodge. The first time around, he only stayed in business for a few weeks, but returned a few years later and established the family business that continues to serve Canyon visitors today.
