- Sightseers to the Grand Canyon enjoy the 16-mile round-trip along the West Rim Drive, which takes them to eight popular lookout points. Beginning at the west entrance to the South Rim's Grand Canyon Village, the road takes the traveler to the Trailview Overlook, Maricopa Point, Powell Point, Hopi Point, Mohave Point, The Abyss, Pima Point and finally to Hermit's Rest. May through October the road is closed, though sightseers can take 90-minute shuttle excursions.
