Public Question Asked by SteveO2719 about Guadalajara

Could you recommend me a cheap apartment in Guadalajara, Mexico?

I'm looking for a place that is not expensive but is still in a good neighborhood. I plan to teach English there.

Try this website: www.compartodepa.com.mx There you'll find a wide variety of furnished and unfurnished living spaces. Depending on your budget you should be able to find a nice, centrally located or at least well communicated apartment in a nice area for around 2000 - 2500 MEX a month and it should include internet, be furnished, and the rest of the bills. Chances are for that price you'd be renting a room in an apartment. Look for locations like Colonia Americana (there are many English schools in that neighborhood), Chapalita, Ciudad del Sol, Paseos del Sol, Providencia, Jardines de Universidad, Jardines del Sol. I strongly advise you not to look at anything that is in the city center itself as it is not very safe and conditions are very run down there.

First of all Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico. You need to visit the part of town where you will be working, and check out the public transportation route. If you speak Spanish, you will be able to negotiate living accomedations. If I did not speak Spanish, I would hire someone for a day or so. Good luck, what you are doing is so important and I admire you for it!!! Barbara

Please let me know the date by which you need the apartment, and I will be looking around and let you know if I find anything interesting.

What's the address where you'll be working?
