Getting There -- The drive from the center of Reykjavík is only 15 minutes; take Route 40 south to the Hafnarfjörður turnoff. Bus S1 runs every 20 or 30 minutes from Hlemmur and Lækjartorg stations in Reykjavík to Hafnarfjörður's shopping center, near the tourist information office (and a 10-min. walk from the Viking Village). The trip takes about 25 minutes. Buses connecting Reykjavík and Keflavík often stop in Hafnarfjörður. For a taxi, call BSH (tel. 555-0888).
Visitor Information -- The tourist office, Strandgata 6, inside the Town Hall (tel. 585-5500; www.hafnarfjordur.is), is open weekdays from 8am to 5pm; from June to August it's also open weekends, from 10am to 3pm.
