Description:
Plenty of people, including presidents, come to this 1857 inn for the crab cakes or hearty American fare. A stone fireplace dominates the dining room, which has wide plank floors and Early American-style furniture. It's a good place for children, whose menus are pasted inside picture books: After they choose between the burger or chicken strips, they've got something to look at until the food comes. There's a brunch buffet on Sundays.

This is great for the ladies but it's too frilly for the guys. Good service, food is predictable but good, nothing exotic, great for folks who prefer not to take risks.
