Nof Hotel

• The Nof Hotel has a great location at the top of the Carmel Center, near the Carmelit station and between the two Dan hotels, yet it's less expensive than its neighbors. "Nof" means "view," and every guest room at the Nof has especially large windows to take in absolutely breathtaking vistas. The hotel looks impressive in size from the outside, but it actually has a small, personal feeling to it. Room refurbishing and a new wing are planned, but at press time, the Nof had been hard hit by the tourism slump, and decor in guest rooms was wearing thin. The hotel dining room is good, and the in-house kosher Chinese restaurant is excellent. A drawback in summer is the lack of a swimming pool. Check your room to see if it's sufficiently updated and in order -- some rooms are in better condition than others.
