Description:

  • Eastern Canada's pioneer brewpub -- this was the first -- is housed in an austere building far down Barrington Street. The starkly handsome 1834 stone building has a medium-fancy dining room upstairs with red tablecloths and captains' chairs. (The pub downstairs is more boisterous and informal.) You can order off the same menu at either spot, and it's what you'd expect at a brewpub, only better-tasting: Entrees include beer-battered fish, steak sandwiches, an excellent smoked-salmon club sandwich, burgers, beef-and-beer stew, salads, and meatloaf. The beer here is fresh and good; they also do Sunday brunches.

User Reviews for Henry House

    Good casual dining

  • If staying @ Westin, it is definitely a good spot for lunch or casual dinner, or nightcap. Reasonably priced pub food and nice efficient staff

    Poor Service, Cool looking place

  • I went to Henry House with some girlfriends recently and we did not even stay for food. It was a beautiful sunny day and they had a great patio so we went in to enjoy some food drinks...

    Watch your step!

  • The food and service here was terrific! However, one must be cautious on the steep granite steps - they are trecherous! Forewarned is forearmed!
