Toroko

NileGuide Expert Says:

Choose this place for a long night of dancing after a long day of amblign aroudn the island and snapping endless pictures of the moai.

Address:

Hanga Roa, Chile

NileGuide Expert tip:

Bring a little more money than you were hoping to spend, as drinks add up in this disco in the middle of nowhere.

Description:

This is one of two nightime dance spots in Hanga Roa, and which one is more popular on any given night depends on nothing more than the gossip about town about where to go. Drinks are pricey, but that's to be expected on the island. People of all ages will be in attendance, and since most of the tourists will be at dance performances, you'll have a chance to mix a little more easily with some people from Rapa Nui.

Music styles that you'll hear will include 80s music, electronic, sau sau (similar to the hula) and zouk, which is a local dance that seems like it might be a cousin to the lambada.
