    • August Kestner Museum gets its name from the founder, August Kestner, a well known diplomat. Most of the exhibits on display are from his own collection of artifacts from Egypt, Rome and Greece. When the museum opened, the collection of Friedrich Culemann, a Hanoverian, was also on display. Classic Greek and Roman antiques, vases, brass, terracotta and bronze articles, as well as jewelry, sculptures even mummies are showcased. The museum also houses precious manuscripts, ancient textiles, bronze, ivory etc.
